Shirley Beatrice Crump, 73, of Sanford, NC, entered eternal rest on Monday, October 9, 2023, at UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill, NC.
Shirley Beatrice Crump, known as "Shirley B," "Shirl The Pearl," and "Pocketbook," born August 28, 1950, to the Late Eula Mae Hawkins and the Late Johnny Edward Crump. Shirley departed her life on October 9, 2023, at the age of 73, at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.
She was born in Chatham County, NC, and grew up in Moncure, NC. She lost her mother at the age of four years old and then her father at the age of fifteen years old. She was later raised in her stepmother's home, Emma Headen (deceased), where she would later bond with her extended family, Roy Headen (deceased), Virginia Britton, and David Brown.
Her hard work was exemplified through her years of dedicated service to Webster Poultry Plant and Boise Cascade (30+ years). She loved spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included playing bingo, cooking, dancing, and listening to music.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Eula Mae Hawkins and Johnny Edward Crump; daughter, Jennifer Diane; granddaughter, Darisha Leshell; grandsons, Darrell Leshawn and De'Andre Cotton; siblings, Wade Lee Crump, Essie Leach, John Crump Jr., Sylvia Crump, David Crump, and Thressa Jackson; brother-in-Law, Leroy Murray; nieces, Yolanda Crump, Carolyn Miller, Shahera Foushee, and a nephew, Keith Leach
She leaves to cherish her memories sons, Dywanne Crump (Sharon), Wade Crump (Miranda); daughter, Jenny Crump; grandchildren, Michael Crump (Madisyn), Darius Cotton (Melissa), Darrian Foxx, Johnathan Crump, Patrice Foushee, D-Erik Crump, Courtland Crump; great-grandchildren, Michael Jr., Dannon, Kloie, Harlem, Mariyah, Mila, and Mi'ava; sisters, Ethel Murray and Claudia Lassiter; brother-in-law, Paul Leach; aunt, Sharlene Hawkins; lifelong friend, Linda Harrington and a host of family and friends.
