Shirley was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on May 28, 1950. She was one of 4 daughters and 1 son born to Albert & Marion Keller. She grew up in Scottsbluff (and 2 years in Bakersfield, California). She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1968. She worked locally for several years as a telephone operator. She moved to Fargo, North Dakota with her sister, where she worked as a sales-rep for Sears and met the love of her life, Marc. They were married on August 31, 1974, in Winnipeg, Canada.
Some years after they married, they moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. She managed an art gallery there and pursued her dream of going to college. She graduated from Metropolitan State University with a BA degree in 1986. She and Marc moved to Clear Water, Florida and had many family members visit. After several years, they had the chance to move closer to family in Houston, Texas.
Her most loved interest was painting watercolors, which she started in high school and continued her whole life. She also enjoyed writing poetry and studying her German-Russian history and ancestry. She and Marc also traveled as her health and time permitted. She was determined to live an active life. She loved going to plays and concerts. Shirley expressed her own opinions unflinchingly and she was very caring and loving to her family and to all she met.
