Shirley Ann Lewis, age 88, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, November 1, 2024, at the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She was born October 23, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Charles Greene and Rosebud Parker. Shirley was a member of the Jamestown Church of Christ; she was very involved with her children's activities, and with the Jamestown community. She was a member of the Jamestown Little League Board of Directors and was the 1st woman umpire in Jamestown; she was a Den Leader for 10 years with the Cub Scouts; was a member of the Golden Age Sr. Citizen Community; and had retired after working with Y.S.I. (Yellow Spring Instruments), and Heathergreene Nursing Home in Jamestown. Shirley is survived by her children, Gary (Marsha) Brown of Toledo, Martin (Anita) Lewis of Dayton, Norman "Pee-Wee" (Valerie) Jackson of Xenia, Philip (Aleshia) Jackson of Dayton, Cleveland (Toni) Lewis, Jr. of Xenia, and Michelle Lewis of Rockwood, Pennsylvania; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and great-great-great grandchildren; brother Charles (Marvinia) Greene, Sr. of Xenia; sisters Shirley Virginia Elwood of California, and Marcia Clark of Dayton; several nieces and nephews; and many friends that she has met along her journey. In addition to her father Charles Greene, mother Rosebud Gates, and step-father who raised her Samuel Gates, Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Cleveland Lewis, Sr. on August 27, 2022; son Michael Lewis; and brother Raymond Greene. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday. November 15, 2024, at the Jamestown Church of Christ. Burial will follow in the Silver Creek Old Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Jamestown Church of Christ. Powers-Kell Funeral Home, Jamestown, is assisting the family.
