Shirley Ann Rediker ("Shirlee"), 89, passed away peacefully January 20, 2025 at Central Baptist Village in Norridge, Illinois.
Born in Chicago and raised on Lafayette Avenue, Shirley graduated from Parker High School. Both the neighborhood and the school were demolished to make way for the Dan Ryan Expressway.
Shirley lived all over the place! From Birmingham, AL to Hollywood, FL to Port Richie, FL to Palos Heights, IL back to Florida before settling in Crestwood, IL for thirty years.
Shirley's hotel career began at the downtown Chicago Ramada Inn, where she started off at the front desk, before moving to the food and beverage department. She served as Director of Catering and Events at the McCormick Inn. She loved to golf and travel and visited Egypt and Israel.
Shirley is survived by a sister, Veronica "Ronnie" Stulgis and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by siblings Iona "Dolly" (the late Don, Sr.) Zgieb, Helen Alberta Lueben (infant) and Charles (Diane) Lueben; parents Albert Luebben and Helen Alexander Luebben; and former spouse Buford "Buff" Rediker.
Per her own request, Shirley's body is being privately buried at Cedar Park Cemetery in Calumet Park, Illinois.
