Shirley Riker Obituary
Long-time Burlington resident Shirley A. Riker, passed away peacefully on Nov. 1, 2025, at Virtua Memorial Hospital, Mt Holly, NJ, after a long illness.
Shirley was the daughter of Mary A. and Harold Riker of Burlington. She graduated from St. Paul School and Burlington High School (class of 1965). She was employed at Riker Chevrolet, then at the Stephen Agency, and finally at the Roma Club, all in Burlington. Shirley's friends remember her as outgoing and friendly, always ready for a good conversation. Her ready wit and congeniality will be greatly missed.
Childhood trips to Florida and later frequent visits to the Jersey Shore, especially the Atlantic City casinos, were special favorites for Shirley. She was an ardent fan of her beloved NY Yankees and NY Jets, and never missed a good discussion about the latest NFL or MLB games.
Shirley is survived by her daughter Dawn and her husband Bob Garwood, her granddaughter Nicole and her husband Joe Boldizar, and her cherished great-grandchildren Sidney and Leo. She is also survived by her sister Joan and her husband Mark Emmons, her brother Richard and his wife Helen Riker, her nieces Ashley and her husband Tom Gorsop, and Rebecca and her husband Jeremy Billmeier. Lastly, she is survived by her former husband Tom Giano and by her beloved canine "buddy", Archie, who will miss her dearly.
Expressions of sympathy for Shirley can be sent to the Page Funeral Home, Burlington, NJ, 08016.
