Michael Riker, born April 30, 1962, passed away September 29, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. He married the love of his life, Linda Kesler, in 1982, and together they built a family full of laughter, love, and countless memories.
Michael is survived by his children: Joe (Leah) Riker of Brighton, MI; Jeremiah (Kala) Stebelton of Reading, MI; and Brandy (Dan) Olmstead of Colorado Springs, CO. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren-Tayler, Matthew, Micheal lll, Caleb, Jolee, Kaya, Aubree, Kira, Gavin, Steven, Case, Bryant, and Ali-and two great-granddaughters, Willow and Aurora, who brought him endless joy.
He is also survived by his siblings, Steven Riker, Shelly Caldwell, Ralph (Cheri) Slade, Judy Cozart, Jill Slade, and Louise Slade, along with many nieces and nephews who cherished his humor and kindness. Michael was preceded in death by his father Fay Riker, his mother and stepfather Patricia and Ralph Slade, his son Michael Riker II, and his brother John Slade.
Michael was known for his big heart, his love of family, and his ability to bring a smile to any room. He loved his dogs, relaxing and (working) in Luzerne, MI, cracking jokes, and enjoying a cold beer. He also passed down generational hobbies-whether it was unicycling, tinkering with MG Midgets, riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, or cruising on his golf cart. These passions will live on through his family and friends who shared in them with him.
A celebration of life gathering will take place at the family property in Luzerne (2377 Deeter Road Luzerne, MI 48636) from Friday, October 10, 2025 through Sunday, October 12, 2025. Interment will take place at Big Creek Township Cemetery in Luzerne at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Hillsdale County Humane Society.
