Shirley Anne Vockroth, age 76, passed away June 13, 2023. Beloved daughter of the late William Hunter Vockroth and Virginia (nee Shappell) Vockroth.
Shirley is survived by her Uncle Fred Shappell and her cousin Fred Fellenser, as well as many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Shirley adored her grandparents and would speak of them often, as much as of her father whom she said always spoiled her and her mom, although the disciplinarian, adored her just the same. During her time as a member of the Eastern Star at her Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, she made many friends. Rosemary Shearer was closest to her, as well as several other “Eastern Star Sisters.”
She had many loves and pastimes; playing bingo, memories of Ocean City New Jersey (she always dreamed of buying a home there), and watching M.A.S.H. Her greatest loves were her “sisters” at Eastern Star, her friends who would visit often, Ann and Barb, and most of all Harold, a fellow resident to whom she considered to be engaged. He taught her what true love really was. Through many struggles, she touched so many lives, and will be dearly missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to her graveside service Thursday, July 13th at 11:00 AM at Glenwood Memorial Gardens, 2321 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA.
