Shirley Wahlstrom Obituary

Shirley was united in marriage in 2009 to William "Bill" Wahlstrom, and together they lovingly blended their families. She dedicated over 30 years of service as a Nurse's Aide at Pawating Hospital, where her compassion and gentle care touched countless lives.
Shirley and Bill shared a joyful and social life, with their favorite tradition being breakfast out together each morning. She had a special place in her heart for her dog and loved her family deeply. Her warm smile and kind spirit were a constant presence, and she will be remembered for the love she gave so freely.
She is survived by her husband, William Wahlstrom; children, Cheryl (Barry) Clymer, Tracy (Dan) Walter, and Lance (Christiana) Carpenter; stepchildren, Perry (Kris) Wahlstrom and Lori (Scott) Wahlstrom; and her brother, Norm (Linda) Luhrsen. Shirley also leaves behind 14 grandchildren-Kenton, Keith (Kylie), Jessica (Mike), Andrew (Kayla), Anthony, Ragyn, Ryan (Heather), Lindsie (Richie), Perry (Kaydee), Makinzy (Devin), Jacklynn (Michael), Alex (Kami), and Kyler-as well as 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marvin Carpenter who passed in 1987, her daughter, Ramona Welsh; her son, Tony Carpenter; grandson, Jason; step-daughter, Susan Wahlstrom and her brothers, Harold, Pete, and Jim Luhrsen.
In keeping with Shirley's wishes, cremation will take place and no services will be held. Palmer Funeral Home – Hoven Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made in Shirley's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105, or to the Humane Society of Southwestern Michigan, 5400 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI 49085.
