Shirley Waller, 87, of Pampa, was called to her eternal resting place on August 13, 2025.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, August 18, 2025 at the Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Jamisen Hancock, pastor at Briarwood Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors and Crematory.
Shirley was born on May 17, 1938 in Memphis, Texas to Homer and Virginia Crawford Grant. She attended school in Dumas and graduated from Dumas High School in 1956. Shirley went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in accounting. She met Rex Waller while in high school and the two even dated a while before going their separate ways. The two later reconnected and were married on May 6, 1978 in Dumas. Shirley moved to Pampa in 1978 where she resided until her passing.
Shirley was a faithful member of Briarwood Church and enjoyed attending bible study. She started the “Threads of Love” class where she taught other women to crochet and made blankets and shawls to give to those in need. Shirley also enjoyed painting, interior decorating, and floral design. Her competitive spirit came out while playing dominos, bridge, and other card games with friends. She will be remembered as a kind woman with a lively spirit and her legacy will live on in the love she showed others.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Rex Waller; her parents, Homer and Virigina Grant; her son, Jim Sealy; and three sisters, Jan Dollar, Yvonne Hill, and Winona Robinson.
She is survived by her nephew, Jay Robinson; one granddaughter, Telissa Sealy; two grandsons, Brandon Sealy and Garret Spain; one great-granddaughter, Avery Curtis; one great-grandson, Elias Rex Goldsmith; and one great-great grandson, Alexander Patterson.
Memorials may be made to the Senior Citizen’s Center, 500 W Francis Ave, Pampa, Texas, 79065 or Briarwood Church, 1800 W Harvester, Pampa, Texas, 79065.
