Shirley Marguerite (Margie) Whitehead, 87, of Mansfield, Texas, went peacefully to be with the Lord on April 13, 2023. Margie was born March 4, 1936, to Doc James and Sadie Eichor in Fort Worth, Texas and raised in Mansfield, Texas.
Margie met her husband, Ronnie Whitehead, at Mansfield High School, where they later married, June 18, 1954, and spent 50 amazing years together.
Over the course of her career, Margie worked as a Merchandiser for General Mills and a Demonstrator for both Vandervoort Dairy Food Co and AMPI. She also worked at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, and the Department of Agriculture at the Texas State Fair for over 40 years.
Margie had a huge heart and was always willing to help in any way that she possibly could. She was a mother, a wife, a friend, and a grandmother, famously known as "Nu". She always cherished having the family tradition of Holiday dinners and Fourth of July picnics hosted at the farm. Although she was very passionate about her dogs and cats, everyone that knew Margie, knew her extreme passion for Elvis Presley.
Margie is preceded in death by her parents, Doc and Sadie Eichor; her husband, Ronnie Whitehead; her sisters Veda Mae Spoon and Evelyn Hankins; her daughter, Dana Whitehead; Niece, Janis Rayburn; and her grandson, Tyler Willingham.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Clay and Donna Whitehead; her sister-in-law Linda Parker (Mike); cousin, Vicki Berger (Roger); nephew, Danny Hankins (Sanya); niece, Rita Hickman (Jim); grandniece, Ronda Weagle (Alan); grandchildren, Brandon (Sheridan), Austin and Megan Whitehead, Stephanie Staggs and Elisha Felix; and great-grandchildren, Shealyn, Jolee, Keegan, Brooke, Kinzie, Bryson, Addyson, and Aidinn.
