Shirley Ann Wilmoth passed peacefully on August 20, 2024, at Central Peninsula Hospital. After a long illness with breast cancer, she spent her last days surrounded by the people she loved.
Shirley was born April 29, 1948, in St. Louis Missouri to Eugene and Zeta (Conner) Ryan. She attended general education at the Wentzville High School before completing her B.S. and Master of Business Management from Lindenwood College in St. Charles Missouri. Shirley went to work for Contel Phone Company in Wentzville before moving to Irving, Texas where she worked at Verizon for 35 years until retirement. She moved to Alaska in 2004 and co-owned Hutch Bed & Breakfast in Cooper Landing from 2004 until 2022.
Shirley was an active member in her faith, attending St. Patrick's Parish in Wentzville, MO., and St. John Newmann in Cooper Landing, AK. She was involved in the Chamber of Commerce, Endowment Board of Senior Citizen Services, CLES Emergency Services, and Community Center of Cooper Landing. She loved to read, travel and attended bible studies.
Family Statement:
One of her favorite quotes was: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away."
Shirley was a loving, giving person. She was grateful for her family and friends and loved volunteering in her community. She got so much joy from giving thoughtful little gifts to others and supporting her local charities. Everyone loved Shirley, and she loved everyone in return.

Shirley was survived by her life partner, George Anderson of Cooper Landing, AK.; son, Gene (Terry) Sipola of Kersey, CO.; daughter, Tracy (Ronald) Boxell of San Clemente, CA.; grandchildren, Curtis (Bobbi) Sipola of Kersey, CO., Amanda (Jason) Stolz of Keenesburg, CO., Conner Boxell, Quinn Boxell, and Colin Boxell of San Clemente, CA.; great grandson(s), Jackson Sipola of Kersey, CO., Rhett Sipola of Kersey, CO., Avery Stolz of Keenesburg, CO., and Colton Stolz of Keenesburg, CO.; sibling(s), Kenneth Ryan of Millersburg, MO., Gary (Anita) Ryan of Millersburg, MO., Dennis (Vickie) of Centralia, MO., and Carol (Bruce) Rhodes of Troy, MO.; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
