Shirley was born in Lancaster to the late Robert and Marie (Fahnestock) Whitman and was the wife of the late Eugene Witmyer, who passed away in 2011.
She was a member of Grace E. C. Church, Ephrata. A 1953 graduate of Ephrata High School, Shirley worked at the Dutchmaid from 1951-1957. She also worked at Harris Department Store and was a secretary at Highland Shoe Company. She loved her church, spending time with her family and friends, and the beach. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, sudoku, reading, and collecting cards.
Shirley is survived by a daughter, Kimberly, wife of Keith Brown; a son, Kevin, husband of Kay (Ruoss) Good; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three stepdaughters, Kathy Steffy, Kim Farlow, Carla Starks and many step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 11 AM, at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata, with Rev. Bruce Wagner officiating.
Arrangements by Stradling Funeral Homes, Inc., Akron/Ephrata.
