Sibyle Harmon Obituary

Sibyle was born on April 24, 1942, in Cocoa, FL, the daughter of John Warren Strickland and Ruth Graham Strickland. She was the widow of the late Marion Carson "Bud" Harmon, where they dated as boyfriend and girlfriend before sharing 56 loving years together as husband and wife. While living in Florida, she worked for NASA during the Apollo missions. She retired as an accounting for Harris County Board of Commissioners after numerous years of service. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents.
She is survived by her children, Melanie-Ann Summers and Brian Carson Harmon; grandchildren, Katherine Harmon Summers, Christopher Graham Summers, Carson Reilly Harmon and Drake Hansen Harmon; and sisters Suzanne (Ron) Horn and Sara (Jim) Phelps.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Hamilton Methodist Church with Rev. Alan Barrett officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in memory of Sibyle Ruth Harmon to the Columbus Hospice 7020 Moon Road Columbus, GA 31909.
