Sidney Allen Martin, Jr. entered peacefully into eternal rest at his residence on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the age of 75. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Sidney attended George Washington Carver High School and was employed as an Assistant Plant Manager/Crane Operator with Avondale Shipyard for over 32 years. He proudly served his county as a member of the United States Navy. Sidney was also a fireman with the Kennedy Heights Fire Department. He sang with the Christian Light Jubilee Gospel Singers. Beloved husband of Patty Ann Clofer-Martin. Loving father of Julia Martin and Selena Martin. Son of the late Sidney A. Martin, Sr and Vera Marie Dutrey-Martin. Grandson of the late Joseph Dutrey and Agnes Gordon Dutrey. Devoted brother of Darryl A. Martin, Louise W. Martin, and the late Janice C. Martin, Romelis J. Martin, and Wendell A. Martin. Uncle of the late Onjeal Martin. Sidney is also survived by 19 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church, Rock of Ages Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Ephesus Missionary Baptist Church, 831 Wayne Avenue, Westwego, LA on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Robert Davison, officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the church.
