Silas C. Gustafson

Silas C. Gustafson of Shevlin, MN. Passed in his home on December 23, 2025. He was born to Carl & Selma Gustafson on February 20, 1929 and attended Bamidji high school. Driven by a desire to travel and see the world, he enlisted in the Air Force, attend boot camp in Texas, before being stationed at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone Maine. It was there, in the nearby community of New Sweden he met his wife and started a family.
Silas "Si" Gustafson was a loving father who wore many hats; a musician playing his according and organ at community events, wedding receptions, and dances throughout the county; a heavy equipment operator; a communication tower installer in the south Pacific, and a farmer. He loved music, dancing, taking his grandchildren for rides about the homestead on his four-wheeler. A kind and gentle soul, he taught his family the importance of hard work, kindness, and respect for others. He will be missed.
Silas is survived by his wife of 70 years Anita, his four and their families; Carroll and his wife Doreen, Connie and her husband Richard, Craig and his wife Sheila, Calvin and his wife Summa: 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
