Simone T. Sewell

Simone Sewell, 47, departed this world on January 11, 2024, leaving behind a profound legacy of love and enduring memories. Born in Jamaica, West Indies, on September 27, 1976, Simone, one of seven siblings, immigrated to Springfield, Massachusetts, at 13.
A standout at Springfield High School of Commerce, Simone excelled academically and in sports. Post-graduation, she built a beautiful family, becoming a devoted mother to DeVaughn, Aaliyah, and DeShawn, and a proud grandmother to Ayla and Azari.
Simone's professional journey showcased her commitment and dedication. With roles at TJ Maxx, BJ Wholesale Club, Bright Side, and 15 years at Service Net as a residential counselor, she left an indelible mark.
Beyond her career, Simone found joy in dancing, dominoes, and cooking-especially her famed fried chicken. Her vibrant spirit, whether on the dance floor or in friendly domino games, created lasting memories of unity and joy.
Simone's commitment extended to fostering community, particularly within the Jamaican community. Her annual summer barbecue, a celebration of culture and friendship, became a cherished event.
As we mourn Simone's departure, let's celebrate the life she lived-a life filled with love, laughter, and a profound sense of community. May she rest in peace, her memory forever dancing in our hearts.
Simone is survived and will be affectionately missed by her children DeVaughn, Aaliyah, and DeShawn. Grandchildren Ayla and Azari. Parents Juliet & Aldon Sewell. Siblings, Aldon Jr., Shavar, Sharon, Susan, Julieanna and Dwight. She will also be missed by her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her entire community in Springfield and Jamaica.
