Simuel Shaw Jr.
September 11, 1942 - May 9, 2025

Simuel Shaw Jr., son of Francis Franklin and Simuel Shaw Sr., was born September 11, 1942, in Ouachita Parish, Monroe, LA. He departed this life on May 9, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary E. Shaw of 59 years of marriage.
Simuel, well known as "Sam Shaw" or "Junior" to his family, was the first born of eight kids and is survived by his baby sister, Stephanie A. Shaw; his children: Simuel, Denise and Michael; his grandchildren: Mercedez (Tae), Khalil, Darius, Ahmad and Kamau; sister-in-law, Johnnie Shaw; brother-in-law, John; and host of nephews and nieces.
Simuel honorably served the U.S. government for over 43 years, dedicating his career to advancing communications technology and possessed an exceptional range of technical skills and expertise. He enjoyed fishing and playing cards with family and friends and was also an avid collector of rare coins, stamps, and antique weapons. Known as a no-nonsense man, he was a devoted father and made time to support his extended family and give back to his community through his Masonic lodge. He was not just a father, grandfather, brother or uncle, he was our advocate, counselor, leadership example, and friend. He gave us his life's wisdom and unyielding love. He was the embodiment of Manhood and the definition of a Hero! He will be deeply missed. Rest in Peace & Love!
Military Honors will be rendered at Southern AZ Veterans Cemetery May 23 at 11:45 a.m. Repast to follow at VFW Post 9972.
