Skylar Shelby Pettit, a beautiful spirit, left this world too soon. She passed away unexpectedly and was pronounced gone on Friday, July 21, 2023, at her home. Skylar was born on January 10, 1999, in Albany, NY and was the daughter of Noel R. Pettit, Jr. and Amber Lee Geier.
She graduated from Mohonasen High School, and she loved to sing, dance, and cook. Her favorite meal was a good Subway submarine and her all-time best snacking treat was pork rinds. Skylar appreciated family banter and humor. She was a beautiful young woman, filled with charisma and wit.
Survivors in addition to her parents include her paternal grandparents, Noel R. Pettit, and Patricia Pettit; her maternal grandmother, Joan Geier; her siblings, Chelsea (Nicholas) Pettit Costello, Meghan (Kenneth) Pettit Bowman, twin brother, Mason Pettit, Autumn Lesniewski, and Colligan Geier. She is also survived by several loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be missed dearly.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Edward C. Geier.
A Service of Remembrance will be held privately for the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, P.O. Box 37920, Boone, IA 50037-0920, or to the Down Syndrome Aim High Resource Center, 314 South Manning Boulevard, Albany, NY 12208.
