Sondra J. "Sandy" Bugbee

Sondra "Sandy" Jean Bugbee, 88, of Bethany, MO, died Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at her home. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, in the Erie Cemetery, Erie, IL. Gibson-Bode Funeral Home, Erie, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Sandy was born October 7, 1936, in Moline, IL, to Kirk and Nita (Perkins) Guthrie. She graduated from Erie High School in 1954. On October 23, 1955, she married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Bugbee at the Erie United Methodist Church. Sandy was co-owner of the family trucking company while living in Erie. In 1978, they bought a farm and moved to Missouri. During her years in Bethany she worked for Bethany Housing Authority and was a Real Estate Broker.
Sandy was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church. She dearly loved spending quality time with her family and let them know how important each one was to her. Her children and grandchildren said many times they had never heard Granny say a mean thing about anyone. She was an amazing person who was treasured and will be deeply missed by her family.
Sandy is survived by her husband of 69 years, Wayne Bugbee; son, Trent (Dana) Bugbee of St. Joseph, MO; daughter, Tracy (Rodney) Tharp of Laclede, MO; sister, JoAnn Mose of Erie, IL; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
