Sonja Lee Park, 85, went home to be with Our Lord peacefully on August 28, 2025, surrounded by family. Despite battling dementia, she maintained a joyful attitude and expressed the love of Jesus through her life to all who came in contact with her. She overcame many hardships early in life such as the Korean War, to eventually studying at the prestigious Ehwa Women's University in Seoul, South Korea and earning a Master's Degree in French at Sorbonne University in Paris. Her love for teaching was evident from an early age and she eventually became a Professor of the French Language at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she taught for 25 years and earned the title Master Teacher.
She and her husband Jae, were married for 57 years until his passing in 2023. The eldest of seven siblings, she is survived by brothers SooNam, ChulNam, DoJoon, DoYoung; sisters HeJa and EunMi; sons Michael and Stephen; daughters-in-law: Nova and Nakyoung; grandson Silas; and many other nieces and nephews.
