Speed Junior Dennis, age 73, a resident of Middlesboro, passed away February 13, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Pineville, Kentucky on March 31, 1948 to the late Jesse and Clara Ada Rose Dennis.
Speed was a mechanic by trade. He also worked on small engines and boat motors. He built one of the fasted cars in Bell County. Speed loved being a child of God and helping others in need. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially all his grandchildren. He was a faithful supporter of any organization that helped children. Dennis proudly served in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Teresa Murrell Dennis, brother Eugene Dennis, sisters Beulah Smith, Opal Prickett, Nadine Arenevias, Katherine Heck, granddaughter Denise, and son-in-law Howard "Fuzzy" Scott.
Left to cherish his memory, sons Jesse Scott Dennis and wife Mary Lynne, and Jimmy Ray Turner, daughters Traci Lynn Moss, Lori Jean Scott, and Christal Woody and husband Joe, sisters Frances Huff, Reda Meehean and husband Wayne, Bonnie Miller and husband Tommy, 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, as well as a host of many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.
A special and heartfelt thank you to his sister-in-law Melissa Murrell Rains, who was more like a sister.
The family of Speed Junior Dennis will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Green Hills Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at the Green Hills Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William Boyd Bingham officiating.
Graveside Services will immediately follow at the Dennis Family Cemetery on Dennis Lane, Middlesboro, KY with Full Military Honors.
