Spencer Glenn Ely

Spencer Glenn Ely, 43, of Kermit, Texas, passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2026. He was born on January 28, 1983, in Hobbs, New Mexico, to Mike and Betty Jane (Baldwin) Ely.

Spencer was a man who found joy in creating. Whether he was carefully building model cars or working with his hands on a new project, he was always building something; always bringing ideas to life. He loved to cook and took pride in sharing meals with others. Spencer never met a stranger; to him, every new face was simply a friend he hadn't made yet. His warm spirit and easy conversation made people feel welcome wherever he went.

To his mother, he was forever her baby. She loved and spoiled him endlessly, even on the days he tested her patience and drove her a little crazy. Their bond was one of deep love, laughter, and unwavering devotion. Spencer's presence filled a room, and his absence leaves a space that can never truly be filled. He will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his father: Mike Ely; his brother: Michael Ely; and his grandparents: Ruth and Spence Ely and Glenn and Janette Baldwin.

Spencer leaves behind his loving mother: Betty Miller of Wink, Texas; his brother: Jimmy Ely and wife Marie of Kermit, Texas; his aunt: Glenda Trice and husband Travis of Alamogordo, New Mexico; his cousins: Justin and Jason Trice; his nieces and nephews: Cierra, Kaleb, Blake, and Jacob; and his great-nephew: Carlos. He also leaves behind countless friends whose lives were brighter because of him.

A private memorial will be held at a later date.
