Sister Carol Wells, SSJ, died on Sept. 5, 2025, in St. Augustine, FL. Born in Blacksville, West Virginia in 1940, she later moved with her family to Florida where she entered the Sisters of St. Joseph from Lake Worth in 1962.

She served many years as an art teacher at St. Joseph's Academy, St. Augustine.

A viewing and vigil service will be held on Tues., Sept. 16, at Craig Funeral Home from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Wed., Sept. 17, at St. Anastasia Church, St. Augustine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Sisters of St. Joseph, P.O. Box 3506, St. Augustine, FL 32085.

I loved our times together in the potter“s house with Sister Carol and friends. I have some pieces that I clumsily made, and some beauties of hers. She was always so cheerful and helpful, full of love.
