Stacey Bullock Krause entered the world on October 23, 1974, in Charleston, SC, and was lovingly adopted into the family of Phyllis and Sherrill Bullock, who raised her in Greenville, SC, where she spent her entire life. Affectionately nicknamed "Pooh" by her mom and dad, she was deeply cherished and benefited from the rich life they provided her. Stacey possessed a razor-sharp wit that will be sorely missed by many, leaving a void in the lives of those who knew her.
Growing up in Greenville, SC, Stacey made herself a perpetual student, she held multiple degrees from Presbyterian College, Converse College, and Liberty University, she dedicated herself to serving students within Greenville County Schools and Laurens District 55, ultimately finding her true passion as a school counselor. Stacey had a profound impact on so many students, the impact on those lives is immeasurable. She changed their lives as much as they changed hers.
Stacey's steadfast commitment to her personal mantra of avoiding marriage, children, and pets was upended within a short span of six months when she married Gary Krause. Embracing her role as a stepmother to Gary's son, Blake, she later officially adopted him at his request, she considered this the greatest honor of her life, despite her initial aversion to family life. This transformation occurred amidst the loving gaze of their three dogs, underscoring the irony of her prior convictions.
Surrounded by a village of friends and family, Stacey reciprocated the love she received and held a special admiration for the Mauldin Police Department, whose unwavering support profoundly impacted her, Gary, and Blake.
In a poignant twist of fate, Stacey reunited with her birth mother in 2017, expressing profound gratitude for the choices made by Kim Isbell in 1974 and cherishing the opportunity to nurture a relationship with her over several years.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at Thomas McAfee Funeral Homes, Southeast followed by the celebration of Stacey's vibrant life at 4:00 p.m.
Family and friends who are unable to attend the service can view the livestream by clicking on the "WATCH LIVESTREAM" button located on the main obituary page.

We met Stacey at a Gower swim meet when she came to meet Kailee who had just broken Stacey's 25 year old breaststroke record! Stacey loved meeting Kailee and her encouragement and support of Kailee was much appreciated.
