COHOES Stacia M. Oreshan, 96, passed away peacefully Monday, September 8, 2025 at her residence with her loving family by her side.
Born in Cohoes, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Wrobel Mrozko. She was educated in Cohoes schools and graduated from Cohoes High School. In her younger years she had worked for the NY Telephone Co. She married her husband, Alex Oreshan, Jr. in 1949 and together they raised their family until his passing in 1980. Thereafter, she returned to work with the check processing division of KeyBank until her retirement.
Stacia was first and foremost a dedicated and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was always happiest when surrounded by her family, organizing family events and of course, taking care of the people she loved. She will be remembered as a true blessing to her family as she was always so attentive and kind.
Stacia is survived by her beloved sons, Dennis Oreshan, Sr. (Dorothy) of Cohoes and Ronald Oreshan (Berna) of Tucson, AZ; by her loving grandchildren, Diahanna Kwok (Ben) of Sydney, Australia, Denise Johnson (Jim) of Cohoes, Dennis Oreshan, Jr. (Kaylin) of Cohoes, Deborah Kwok (Jeremy) of Sydney, Australia and Nicholas Oreshan (Kelly) of Carmel, IN. She is also survived by 21 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister Dorothy L. Smith and her brother, John Mrozko who both passed earlier this year.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 15th at 10:30 a.m. in the Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 105 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, Boght Corners.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday, Sept. 14th from 3-6 p.m.
Stacia's family would especially like to thank the Eddy SeniorCare Pace Program and the Community Hospice for their exceptional care during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in her memory to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 So. Manning Blvd., Albany, NY 12208
