Her Story
On March 6, 1971, a beautiful baby girl was delivered to the late Roy and Betty Cowins in Bronx, New York. They named her Stacie Monique.
Stacie graduated from Broken Arrow High School in 1989. She later attended the University of Oklahoma and the University of Central Oklahoma. While attending OU, she became a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., where she pledged in the spring of 1990.
There, in 1990, she met her husband of 30 years, Ezell Ware III, and they were wed on February 20, 1993. Born to them were two boys, Ezell (Quad) Ware IV and Jordan Tyrell Ware.
Stacie was affectionately known to everyone and had the biggest heart full of compassion for people. Her spirit of giving touched many lives, but her gifts were attached with a Message of Wisdom. Some would say that Stacie was like E.F. Hutton, because when she spoke, everyone listened.
Stacie accepted Christ at an early age, and was a Charter Member of Vision of Faith Church, which was founded by her parents in 1995. She was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 2018 and appointed Associate Pastor alongside her husband, the Senior Pastor. Stacie also worked for over 25 years with the developmentally disabled, with her longest tenure being at Gatesway Foundation in Broken Arrow. Just like her mother, Stacie devoted her time to helping others. She lived every day with the mindset, "If I can help somebody along the way, then my living will not be in vain."
Stacie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 and fought the good fight. On August 17, 2023, she passed peacefully from this life and received her crown in glory. She was surrounded and supported by her loving family and friends during the last days of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Betty Cowins; maternal grandparents, Tommie and Rose Dawson; maternal aunties,
Phyllis Walker and Alice Fowler; four maternal uncles, Leroy Roberts, Willie B., Tommie Jr., and William Dawson, all of Warrenton, GA; paternal
grandparents, Herman and Charlotte Cowins; two paternal aunts, Barbara Hamilton and Edith Cowins; two paternal uncles, Herman Jr. and Bobby Ray; and sister-in-law, Sonja L. Ware.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Ezell Ware III, and two sons, Ezell (Quad) Ware IV and Jordan Tyrell Ware, all of
Broken Arrow, OK; aunts, Eddye Sinkfield (Cleveland) of Decatur, GA, Willa Jefferson of Montgomery, AL, Annie Goodwin of Broken Arrow, OK, Emmie Joyce Cowins and Thelma Roberts both from
Thomson, GA, Mable Dawson, of Warrenton, GA, and Lizzie Gross of Atlanta, GA; uncle, Roy Melvin (Catherine) Cowins of
Thomson, GA; two granddaughters, Blakley Rose Scholes and Skyler Neytiri Ware; special godsister, Dionne Richardson-Butts (Kevin) of Harker Heights, TX; cousins, Cynthia Stevens of Conyers, GA, and Shandria Walker of Savannah, GA; mother-in-law, Emma L. Watts (Lawrence) of Eufaula, OK; sisters-in-law, Lisa L. Ware of
