Stacy Powell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Miller Funeral Home from Jan. 15 to Jan. 16, 2026.
Ms. Stacy Renae Powell was born October 11, 1965 in Talladega, AL to the late James "Bill" Powell and Ollie Mae Sizemore Powell. On January 5, 2026 Stacy unexpectedly passed away during a lengthy stay at Tanner Medical Ceneter in Carrollton, GA.

Stacy was a precious baby sister who will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was a very loving, gentle soul, who was also smart, funny, and creative. Stacy loved being outside, working in the yard, and creating beautiful flower gardens. She particularly loved the beach and mountains, fishing, and her pets.

Originally from Oxford, AL, Stacy worked for 10 years as a group home live-in manager for Rainbow Omega in Eastaboga, AL. She left her job there to help take care of her Dad before he passed away, eventually moving to Carrollton, GA permanently.

In addition to her parents, Stacy was preceded in death by her beloved big brother, Dwight Powell and her grandparents.

She is survived by her sister and brother in law, Terrie Powell and John Moody; niece, Heather Powell-Roper; her son, Austin Roper; and his father, Junior Roper; niece and nephews, Julie Reel, John W. and Joshua Moody and their spouses and children.

A celebration of life service with Stacy's close friends and relatives will be held at a later date.
