Stanley Raymond Bartreau, 94, of Alpena, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27th, 2021, at Besser Senior Living.
Born in Alpena March 9th, 1927. He served in the U.S. Army, Calvary Division, WWII. After returning home from Japan, he sailed the Great Lakes for Huron Portland Cement, where he later took a job as an electrician retiring in 1984. Stan was an avid outdoorsman, He enjoyed Deer and Duck hunting and loved to fish. He also found great pleasure in boating on Lake Huron. At the age of 8years old he found his passion playing guitar. Over the years he formed and played in many local bands and in later years loved volunteering at local clubs and nursing facilities. He married the love of his life, Lucille, in 1949. Together they raised two children, Michael (Julie) of Bailey, CO., and Laurie of Alpena. Stan is survived by his children, a granddaughter Tressa (Jason) Zielaskowski, 2 great granddaughters Mia Lou and Stella Mae who brought so much joy to his life, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Lucille, and his siblings, Hank, Orville, Alice, and Lorraine.
A private graveside ceremony will take place at Evergreen cemetery where Stan and Lucille will be interred together. McWilliams Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Online condolences may be registered at www.mcwilliamsfh.com
