Stanley Ellison Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cook Brothers Funeral Directors and Cremations - Fairburn on Dec. 17, 2025.
Stanley Ellison was born on March 17, 1959, to the late Aretha Ellison and Howard Zackery of Newnan, Georgia. He was raised in Newnan, where he attended Ruth Hill Elementary School, O. P. Evans Middle School, and Newnan High School. During his high school years, Stanley excelled as a standout football player, earning recognition for both his talent and dedication.
From an early age, Stanley knew and loved the Lord. Through the guidance of his mother and grandmother, his faith in Christ was firmly instilled and remained a steady foundation throughout his life. Stanley was known for his caring and loving heart. No matter what challenges life presented, he remained the same gentle, kind, and genuine soul each and every day.
Stanley found his greatest joy in spending time with his family. He deeply loved his children and grandchildren and cherished the bond he shared with his son-in-law, Nick Hurston, whom he thought highly of and loved as his own. Being surrounded by family brought him happiness-whether it was eating together, riding around, laughing, or simply enjoying the company of those who loved him.
The bond between Stanley and his daughter was truly special. They were inseparable-spending time together every other day and talking four to five times daily. Their connection never faded, and it was evident to all how deeply she loved her daddy.
On December 15, 2025, Stanley gained his wings and became our guardian angel.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his children, Crystal and Nick Hurston, Lisa Favors, and Troy Ayers; his grandchildren, Nickloas Render and Keylee Render, Damondre Render, Christyunna Render, Troy Ayers Jr., and Zion Ayers; and his great-granddaughter, Brynlee Nurrae Render. He is also survived by his sisters, Tasha Dorsey and Stephanie Zackery; his brother, Jeffery Roberts; his aunt, Berniece Harmon; a host of cousins, including one special cousin, Kesha Hooks; and dear friends of over 20 years, Pastor Jim Ellis, Amy and Jay Boren, Beth and Susan of the Newnan Library, along with many others who loved him dearly.
Stanley Ellison will forever be remembered for his loving heart, unwavering faith, and the joy he brought to all who knew him.
