Stanley Reagen Pitts of Viola, Arkansas passed away on Friday, October 31, 2025 in Yellville, Arkansas. He was 74 yrs old. Stanley was born on June 09, 1951 in Wynne, Arkansas to Abner Carter Pitts and Louise Mattie (Durham) Pitts.
Stanley grew up in Earle, Arkansas before moving to the Viola Boy Scout Camp with his parents, brothers and sister. He loved the outdoors and could be found hunting and fishing with his family and friends. His hunting dogs (beagles) Little Un and Big Un could be found chasing ducks, rabbits and squirrels along the Cache River bottoms near Dupree Lake. He enjoyed sports, country music and good ole country cooking. He graduated from Viola High School. He worked various jobs on a tugboat, Bob’s Gas Station in Viola and 12 years at Walmart.
Stanley is survived by two brothers, Carl Pitts (Martha) of Horseshoe Bend, Arkansas, and Ronald Pitts of Salem, Arkansas; one sister, Phyllis Reynolds (Paul) of Mountain Home, Arkansas; nephews, Keith Pitts (Tabby) of Pangburn, Arkansas, and Michael Pitts of Texas; one niece, Kimberly Santos (Yan) of Carson, California; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abner and Louise Pitts and his brother, Ruben Pitts.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 06, 2025, at the Viola Church of Christ (highway 62 & 223) in Viola, Arkansas, with Bro. Alan Talburt officiating. Interment will follow at Flora Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas.
Memorials may be made to the Flora Cemetery in Viola, Arkansas or the Viola Church of Christ in Viola, Arkansas. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
Stanley will be remembered for his gentle heart, love of the outdoors, and the kindness he shared with all who knew him. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
