Greenfield- Stanley Joseph Rys II, 65, passed away May 26, 2024. He was born on March 3, 1959 in Holyoke to the late Stanley and Lucy (Zwirko) Rys. After graduating Granby High School in 1977, Stanley earned his bachelor's degree in 2001 from Middle Tennessee State University. He was currently working as a Quality Engineer for Covestro in South Deerfield.Stanley loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and gardening. He was a fan of all New England sports, enjoyed cooking, and loved animals. He will be dearly missed.Stanley is survived by his sisters, Rosemary Farioli and husband Dennis of Thompson, CT., and Patricia Deren of Belchertown. He also leaves his nieces and nephews, Nicole Deren, Kristen Green, Dr. Matthew Deren, and Teressa Sindelar; 9 grand nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog Enzo and cat Sebastian. A catholic memorial service will be held Monday June 3, 2024 at 3:00pm followed by a visitation from 3:30-6:00pm at the Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the American Diabetes Association by visiting www.diabetes.org, or the Dana-Farber Jimmy Fund by visiting www.jimmyfund.org.
