Stanley Scepura

Stanley Scepura, age 87, of Erie, passed away at his residence on Friday, October 31, 2025, after a 2-year leukemia battle. Born in Forest City, Pa. on June 2, 1938, he was a son of the late Stanley and Marian (Pribula) Scepura.
Stanley was a meatcutter for various grocers in town. He retired from his position as head meatcutter at Giant Eagle where he never missed a day of work. He loved his Sunday family gatherings and his hunting camp in Mayburg. He enjoyed antiquing, going to auctions, refinishing furniture, and hunting.
Stanley is survived by his wife of 68 years, Sara (Calabrese) Scepura; four children, Christine Hunkele, husband Richard, John Scepura, wife Diane, Mary Lou Campbell, husband Christopher, and Julie Space (Michael), all of Erie; 11 grandchildren, Rebecca Housholder, Melissa Rupp, Heather Spaulding, Ashley Showers, Johnny Scepura, Christopher Campbell, Katie Walker, Kelsey Mack, Sarah Pettys, Samantha Wilcox, and Victoria Space; two brothers, Richard and Ronald Scepura, both of Erie; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 W. 38th Street at Greengarden Blvd., on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m., and may attend a prayer there on Thursday at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Peace Church at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery.
