Stella Anne (Willis) Berry, 96, of Murrells Inlet, SC, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at the home of her son, James "Chip" B. Berry III, in Kure Beach, NC. She was surrounded by love and a deep sense of peace. Born to the late Dr. Henry "Hal" Allen Willis and Mildred (Byess) Willis, Anne lived a life marked by grace, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. James B. Berry Jr., of Marion, SC, and her cherished son, Thomas LeGrande Berry II, of Charleston, SC. Anne is survived by her two sons, James "Chip" B. Berry III and Allen "Hal" Willis Berry; two daughters-in-law, Wanda Quarles Berry and Karen Smith Berry; four grandchildren, Thomas LeGrande Berry III (Abbie Berry), Ashley Berry Kilrain (Michael Kilrain), AnnaLee Berry Johnston (Eric Johnston), and James "Jay" B. Berry IV; and five beautiful great-grandsons she adored. Anne pursued her passion for nursing at the University of South Carolina and went on to teach in the first School of Nursing at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. She was a devoted Christian and a longtime member of Belin United Methodist Church. Her faith was her foundation through all of life's joys and challenges. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, but her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of God. A celebration of Anne's life will be held at Belin United Methodist Church in Murrells Inlet, SC, on Tuesday, August 19 th 2025, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, consider a memorial gift in Anne's honor to her beloved Belin United Methodist Church.
