Stella Mae (Eaton) Martin, born March 15, 1949, in Keavy, Kentucky, went home to be with her heavenly father after a long illness on Monday, August 19, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones at her home.

Stella was the daughter of Gale Felix Eaton and Nancy Jane (Vanover) Eaton of Keavy,

Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James K. Martin of Keavy.

Stella is survived by her son, Tony Martin, grandsons Bradley (Lakon) Martin and Logan Martin, great-grandsons, Oliver and Ezra Martin, along with a new grandson to be welcomed in November.

Stella is survived by her sister and lifelong best friend Gracie (Joe) Eaton Karr Leopold of Keavy, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her siblings Frances (Virgil) Allen of

Richmond, Indiana, Wesley (Rosella) Eaton of Keavy, Sylvia (Clyde) Huff of Addyston, Ohio, Ruth (Claude) McFarland of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Jerry (Darlene) Eaton of Richmond Indiana.

Stella also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, special cousins, and friends.

Stella and Jim were the owners of Martin's Nursery in Keavy, Kentucky. If you wanted to know why your plant was dead, she could (and would) tell you.

Stella was a long-time member of Level Green Baptist Church in Keavy, Kentucky where she taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years touching the hearts and planting seeds for the Lord in numerous young people.

Before her illness, Stella loved to fish, travel, and a good joke. She could find humor in any situation and the writer of these words will never forget the sound of her laughter.

Visitation will be held from 12-2 PM on Friday, August 23, 2024, at Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 2 PM with Brother Gene Mobley officiating.

Interment will immediately follow at Chappell Cemetery in Keavy, Kentucky.
