After a long battle with kidney disease, Stephen, "Steve", Eric Barbour, 55, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, went to be with the Savior he had sung about his whole life.
Born on December 16, 1969, in Akron, Ohio, Steve grew up in Glasgow, Kentucky, where he attended Glasgow High School. He later pursued higher education at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering.
Steve was a devoted husband to Tina Jacobs Barbour and a loving father to Taylor Shay Jones (Daniel Lee Jones), Mason Drew Whitlow (Alexandria Rae Whitlow), Lindsey Brooke Barbour, and Madison Grace Barbour. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Titus Carter Jones, Micah Bradley Jones, Rhett Samuel Jones, Saige Rayne Anderson, Addison Grace Whitlow, and Gabriel Alexander Whitlow. He is also survived by his father, Larry Barbour, his brother, Todd Barbour (Melissa Barbour), and his nieces Alexis Barbour Pritchard (Jordan Pritchard) and Hannah Barbour. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Diane Barbour, and his brother, Vincent Barbour.
A man of deep faith, Steve was an active member of Eastwood Baptist Church in Bowling Green. His love for music was evident through his participation in the church choir and praise team. Steve's love for gospel music started at a young age singing with his family for about 10 years. He later joined Commonwealth Quartet as their lead singer for a decade. In 2008 he founded Living Proof singing tenor with the final members at his death being his wife, Tina Barbour (alto) and Melissa Stone (soprano) at his death.
Beyond music, Steve found joy in games and disc golf. Known for his loving nature, generosity, compassion, and sharp wit, he was always ready to lend a helping hand to those around him.
Visitation will be held at Eastwood Baptist Church (500 Eastwood Street, Bowling Green, KY 42103) on Thursday, February 13, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and again on Friday, February 14, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A funeral service will follow at the church on February 14 at 12:00 PM. Burial will be in Bowling Green Gardens.
Arrangements are under the direction of J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel.
The family has requested that all donations in Steve's memory be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
Steve's memory will live on through the love he shared with his family and friends and the music that brought joy to so many lives

So sorry to hear of Steve´s passing. I am blessed to be called a friend, and enjoyed many years of singing with Steve in the Church choir , and attending many of his trio performances. May he continue to add his voice to that Heavenly Choir for Eternity
