Stephen John Berté Jr. of Newtown, CT sadly and unexpectedly passed away on October 27, 2024. He was 69 years old.
Stephen was married to Deborah (Ferstler) Berté for 46 years. They lovingly raised two children, Nicole Lourenco (husband, Alan) and Stephen Berté III (wife, Kristina). He was blessed with four wonderful grandchildren, Aidan and Mia Lourenco, and Stephen and Dominic Berté.
Born on May 25, 1955 in Brooklyn, NY, Stephen was the son of Stephen and Joan Berté. In addition to his wife, children and grandchildren, he is survived by his mother Joan, his brothers and sisters Christine Paolillo (husband, Lenny), Daniel Berté, Jennifer Catalano (husband, Richard), Robert Berté, Regina Longo (husband, Nick), Elaine Berté, Mark Berté (wife, Jeanne), and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Stephen Berté and his sister Linda Berté.
Stephen loved the beach and the sun, enjoyed boating and fishing, and loved spending time with his family. He will be missed, but remembered with love and many happy memories.
Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown. A short funeral service will take place at the funeral home at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November 2, immediately followed by a private procession and burial at Newtown Village Cemetery.
