Helen Teresa (Osgood) Hoey peacefully left this earth on August 15, 2025, after a faith-filled, remarkable, and beautiful life.

She was born on January 18, 1929, in Jamaica Plain, Boston, Massachusetts. Although an only child, she was surrounded by many Brill cousins growing up. She attended Jamaica Plain High School and graduated with Honors. Her high school yearbook says her goal was to travel the world – which she did.

Her loving father, Arthur, passed away when she was in high school. She met her husband, James Anthony Hoey, while working as a telephone operator, and they married in 1952.

Helen and Jim were blessed with five children. Helen managed the family while they moved numerous times around the country while Jim pursued his successful career. When the children were grown, Helen enjoyed her job at a real estate office in Westport, Connecticut.

She loved a good time and had many close girlfriends over the years. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and was known to have a beer while watching the games. She loved animals of all kinds – whether caring for her many pets over the years or feeding the ducks from her dock on Cape Cod. Most importantly, she was a kind, generous and sweet person with a sharp sense of humor.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Alice (Brill) Osgood, her husband James, and grandson William Falbo. She is survived by her five children, James (Mary Ann), Deborah Nekus (Andrew), Stephen (Deborah), Judith Falbo (Anthony) and Ellen Quaka (Thomas).

She is also survived by eleven grandchildren – Michael and James; Allison and Maxwell; Lindsay, Stephanie, Erica and Molly; Conor and Ryan; and Anthony along with ten great grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, August 22 at 11:00 AM at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 35 Norfield Road, Weston. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery, 73 Greens Farms Road, Westport.
