Stephen "Steve" Biven, 66, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, December 26, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Coincidentally, this was the same date he met the love of his life, Sheila, in 1997. Steve Graduated from Bishop David High School in 1977 & began working at Philip Morris shortly thereafter, for 17 years. This was followed by management at Advanced Auto Parts, until he went on disability in 2010. He was a fun-loving, gentle man, with a charismatic personality, & a beautiful smile. His passions were being with & taking care of his wife, along with politics, music, following the Indianapolis Colts, & loved watching the History Channel.
He was born on November 18, 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky to William and Mary (Mattingly) Biven. He is preceded in death by his Father, William Louis Biven, Mother, Mary Alma Biven, Brother, Daniel Biven, and Nephew, Brandon Biven.
Stephen is survived by his loving Wife of 18 years, Sheila Rae Biven; Children, Josh Ogle and Chantel Spurlock; Grandchildren, Destiny (Nick) Goff, Claudia Spurlock, Walker (Kaylee) Spurlock, Isaac (Nikki) Spurlock, Landon (Mary) Spurlock, Keely (Chad) Spurlock, Chadon Spurlock, Sabbath Spurlock, Delevingne Spurlock, 17 Great-Grandchildren, and Granddog CJ; Sisters, Corliss (Debbie) Biven, Debbie (Robin) Rock, and Kim (Phil) Hodges; Nieces, Nicole (Adam) Coop, Jennifer (Wendy) Rock, Amber (Joshua) Sharp, and Nephew, Dawson Biven.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel, (10304 Dixie Hwy). His Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions - Southwest Louisville Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. Holly Cemetery in Fairdale, Kentucky.
The family requests that contributions in Stephen’s memory be made to Louisville Hosparus or American Cancer Society.
