Stephen Christopher Carter, 63, passed away on September 15, 2025 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Stephen is preceded in death by his brother, James Kevin Carter; his sister, Ann Keith Carter; his father, Keith Thomas Carter; and his mother, Joyce Riney Carter.
He is survived by his sister, Nancy Carter, who was his caretaker; his cousins, Cathy Riney, Mary Margaret Caporali, Elizabeth Barteletti, Christopher Riney, John Riney (Kim), and Victoria Horton (Steve); and many friends.
Stephen was a horse racing enthusiast due to his sister being a thoroughbred trainer in Ocala. He loved Saratoga, Keeneland, Santa Anita and Del Mar. His favorite job with his favorite people was working at the ever illustrious Back Door. Stephen had the most amazing assembly of cats, he loved them all and they loved him.
A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Newcomer, East Louisville Chapel, located at 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243. A funeral mass will be held the following day at 9:30 am at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church, located at 1104 S 6th Street, Louisville, KY 40203.
