Stephen Copelin, age 71, of Mena, Arkansas died Sunday, August 11, 2024 at his home. He was born on Friday, February 15, 1953 to Robert Ward and Mary Williams Copelin in Lubbock, Texas.
Stephen was a man of remarkable character, known for his friendly and selfless nature. Always willing to lend a hand, he was a constant source of support and comfort to anyone in need. Stephen had a great sense of humor and loved to joke and laugh with those around him. His life was enriched by a wealth of wisdom and experience, which he shared generously with others. A talented mechanic, he found joy in fishing, hunting, and working with his hands. Stephen dedicated many years of his life to Walmart before his well-earned retirement. Above all, he was immensely proud of his family and cherished every moment spent with them. Stephen's legacy of kindness, talent, and wisdom will continue to inspire and uplift all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carolyn Holland Copelin; his son, Tim Copelin; and two brothers, Huey Wayne Copelin and Robert Lee Copelin.
Stephen is survived by his grandsons, Hayden Copelin of Mena, Colton Alvis of Hot Springs; his fiancé, Marie Metcalf of Texas; one sister, Joyce Copelin Liles and husband, Gerald Liles of Bentonville; four nephews, LaDon Copelin, Kenneth Copelin, Richard Copelin, and Bobby Copelin; two nieces, Janna Liles Sharp and Patricia Ann McAllister Copelin; several other grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Arkansas with Brother Ron Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at the Concord Cemetery in Ink, Arkansas under the direction of Bowser Family Funeral Home in Mena. A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Bowser Family Funeral Home Chapel in Mena, Arkansas.
