I will continue to laugh with you about the Boar's Head Deli all the rest of my life. What a particularly wonderful human-Godspeed, my friend.

In August 1969, a ragtag bunch of young prep school gentlemen converged on Blackstone Hall at Lake Forest College. I suppose we could´ve been known as the "Second Floor Blackstone Hall Boys" or something like that but we didn´t think of it. Steve was an integral member of this young cohort that has remained tight for 50+ years.
One of the first things I noticed about Steve was the license plate on his silver Camaro which read: "OSEO". Like me, Steve, liked having a unique moniker on his car.
Steve´s acerbic sense of humor was incredibly sharp, witty, and brilliant; it was far better to not be in his line of fire, he constantly made us laugh mightily.
I credit Steve with teaching me this highly useful (for me) golf maxim:
"You play a "Ray Ray" game. One hole you play like Ray Floyd and the next hole you play like Ray Charles".
Steve was a devoted, supportive and loving father to Lindsay and justifiably proud of her accomplishments.
His photography is stunningly beautiful, I´m proud to own a few of his pieces. While he is no longer with us, he leaves a wonderful legacy and a huge collection of his fabulous work.
Steve is certainly in a better place now, may he rest in peace.

I photographed a lot with Steve over the years and the events were always filled with good photography and Great Stories. I always contacted Steve for his opinion on any topic due to his eclectic knowledge base. Steve was one of the smartest people I've known. We also exchanged Dad/daughter stories, and one could tell from the glow when he talked about Lindsay, how much he loved her and valued spending time with her. The world is a lesser place with the passing of Steve.

Too many stories to tell: college parties at LFC, vacations with my girls, golf at CC of Fairfield, buying records at Sally´s in Westport, annual "Christmas Eve with Steve" lunches. He taught me to swing a club better, and not to miss out on the humor of Life. "Remember George, you´re hitting a golf ball, not killing a snake!"
