Stephen Gately Obituary
Stephen worked in the pharmaceuticals industry. He was a cigar aficionado and a bourbon connoisseur. A longtime fan of the Bruins and Patriots, Stephen was also a fan of grilling and bird watching in the backyard. The Civil War and fishing were some of Stephen's favorite hobbies.
He was the husband of the late Jennifer Ann (Stueber) Gately. Loving father of Dylan Gately of Lakewood, OH and Devin Gately of NYC. Brother of Michelle Gately of East Bridgewater and Mark Gately of Sharon. Brother in law of James Stueber and Sandy Stueber, both of Avon Lake, OH. Uncle of Joseph Dutcher, USMC of Japan, Rachel Dutcher, Sarah Stueber of Chicago, and Nicholas Stueber of Avon Lake, OH.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Monday 4/1/24 from 4-7 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hospital). Donations in memory of Stephen may be made to Brigham and Women's Hospital for Cancer Care, 75 Francis Street, Boston, MA 02215.

Dylan, Devin and family,
I´m so sorry to hear about the passing of your dad. I saw him just the other day walking the dog in his front yard. Steve did always wait a long time before coming in for his haircut but this time, it was longer than usual.
I knew he enjoyed feeding the birds, he even had plenty of Baltimore Orioles in past years, where I had no luck with this species. He told me how to attract these birds. I purchased a special feeder and will try to follow his advice with the choice of food. If I´m lucky enough to have Baltimore orioles in my yard, they will remind me of Jen and Steve.
