Stephen Thomas Gyr, age 72 of Louisville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2024. Stephen was born on September 6, 1952 to the late Joseph W. Gyr and June D. Gittings. He grew up in Louisville, attending Holy Spriit Grade School and graduated from Trinity High School. Stephen attended Bellarmine College. He was previously self-employed and retired from Home Depot.
In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his step-father, Tom Gittings; brother, Ronald Gyr; and sister, Kathaleen Nannini.
Stephen is survived by his sisters, Barbara Payne (Dennis), Patricia Gyr and Jennifer Gower (David); multiple nieces and nephews, sharing a special bond with David Gower, Jr. and Jake Gower.
A gathering to celebrate Stephen's life will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals and Receptions, East Louisville Chapel, 235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40243.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Kentucky, 6100 Dutchmans Ln # 401, Louisville, KY 40205.
