Stephen J. Herron

Stephen J. Herron, age 43, formerly of Jackson Township, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Summa Akron Hospital.

Born on May 28, 1982, in Canton, Ohio, Stephen was the son of Brad and Stephanie (Taranta) Herron.

After his graduation from Jackson High School, Stephen earned a degree in Computer Science while serving in the United States Air Force. Upon his military retirement in 2025 after 20 years of service, Stephen had risen to the rank of Master Sargeant and earned a Bronze Star following the completion of three tours of duty in Afghanistan.

Stephen was the proud father to his daughter, Olivia, a devoted son, brother, and uncle, and a true patriot to his country. He will be fondly remembered for his many talents, including his agility in building computers, and his adept culinary skills.

Stephen is survived by his daughter, Olivia; wife, Iuka Herron; father, Brad Herron; sister, Elizabeth Herron; nieces, Natalie and Christina Herron; and nephew, Benjamin Herron.

Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Stephanie Herron.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Heitger Funeral Home (Jackson Chapel), 5850 Wales Ave NW, Massillon from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

Interment will be at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens in Massillon.
