Stephen Michael Keller

Stephen "Steve" Michael Keller, 64, passed away unexpectedly at Mercy Hospital of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Steve was born on April 3, 1961, in Elmhurst, Illinois, to Caroline Lynn Keller and Ronald Keller. He was the eldest boy of their nine children, a role he carried with quiet leadership and care. His childhood was shaped by family, faith, and frequent moves, growing up in Chicago, Dallas, and Kansas City before settling in Urbandale, Iowa. He graduated from Dowling Catholic High School in Des Moines.

Steve earned a degree in Actuarial Science from Drake University in 1983 and began his professional career with C&A in Chicago-a city that remained close to his heart long after he relocated to Minneapolis, Minnesota. It was here that Steve met Robin Rohde in 1993. Together they shared two sons, Samuel (born 1996) and Theodore (born 2000). Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing Steve understood the depth of his love for his boys. He was happiest when sharing his passions with them, including: photography, road trips, 70s and 80s music, sports, a good sense of humor, never taking yourself too seriously, and of course, the Chicago Bears.

Steve is survived by his sons, Samuel and Theodore; his siblings; and many extended family members and friends who will miss his humor, simple nature, and sense of adventure. He was preceded in death by his parents, Caroline and Ronald Keller, in 2014, and by his younger sister Catherine in 2021.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids, Minnesota. with visitation one hour prior to service at Church.
