Stephen Kubik

Stephen M. Kubik, 85, longtime resident of Westmont, at rest November 2, 2024. Born July 30, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Steve and Pauline Kubik. Beloved husband of Gloria nee Jakovec; loving father of William (Charlene), Kathryn (Bill) Cox and James (Kara); devoted grandfather of Daniel, Rachel, Stephanie, Jenna, Anthony, Miles and Simon; dearest brother of Robert and Shirley Kubik and the late Ellen and Pauline Kubik; fond uncle of nieces and nephews. Steve was a Harley enthusiast and rider. He exercised daily and enjoyed running, especially in local events, which he did quite well in! He enjoyed auto mechanics, which he passed on to his children, smelt fishing at Montrose Beach and off party boats in the Gulf of Mexico, gardening, golfing, and cooking, especially soup. Steve was a longtime parishioner at Bethel Lutheran Church in Westmont, serving as an usher. More than anything else, Steve loved being with his grandkids and all their various activites; sports, sledding, ice skating and plays, just to name a few. Visitation Saturday November 9, 2024 from 10 A.M. to 12 P.M., followed by funeral services at 12 P.M. at Cappetta's West Suburban Funeral Home & Cremation Services 39 N. Cass Ave., Westmont.
