Luczak, Stephen. March 9, 2025. Age 68. Beloved husband of Cyndi for 43 years. Loving father of Meghan (Sean) Pavliscak and Brandon (Jaime) Luczak. Proud and adored Grandpa/Puppa of Gavin, Morgan, Owen, Jackson, Raylen, and Eli. Dear brother of Barbara (the late Hubert) Kraemer and the late Valentine Luczak Jr. Also survived by loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Steve graduated from Utica High School near the top of his class and was a talented three sport Varsity athlete in football, basketball, and baseball. He went on to play baseball at Sienna Heights then Oakland University on scholarship. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and instilled the importance of education in his children and grandchildren. His love of sports brought him into college recruiting and his desire to spend time with his family kept his career humble and local at Madison Electric Company in sales. He would bring his kids to work and let them raid the ice cream refrigerator! He even had a brief stent as a movie star in "One in a Million: The Ron LeFlore Story."
Steve had an extraordinary ability to remember the name of every person he met. His remarkable memory allowed him to share countless stories and anecdotes, bringing joy and laughter to those around him. He had a deep love for sports, particularly anything related to Notre Dame, and he could often be found cheering on his daughter and son at their games, where he also took on the role of coach. His enthusiasm for sports was only matched by his love for his family, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Steve faced numerous challenges over the last 22 years following a car accident and subsequent stroke, but through it all he loved his family deeply and was loved in return. His family will forever hold dear the memories of his stories, jokes, and the special two-cheek kiss that was a signature of his affection.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to all who cared for him over the years including his long-time caregiver Charlene Teague, the Sunrise of Shelby family, and the AccentCare Hospice team.
Though he is no longer with us, the legacy of love, pride, and encouragement he leaves behind will continue to inspire his family. They promise to keep his memory alive for his grandchildren and ensure they know the incredible grandfather they had.
