Stephen Lee Smith

Stephen Lee Smith died Monday, June 12, 2023, at the age of 65. Stephen was born on October 22, 1957, the son of Chester E. Smith and Norma Lee (Baker) Smith.
Steve grew up in Choctaw, Oklahoma, and graduated from Choctaw High School. He started working in the oil field at the age of 19. When the oil field went down, he managed restaurants, and for a time, was an over the road truck driver. When the oil field opened back up, he once again became a pipe inspector, and was once rated the number 1 inspector in the nation. He went on to become a third-party inspector, traveling all over the world to monitor quality control or inspections. His last project was in Guyana, and he returned from South America May 24, 2023.
Steve never met a stranger and was loved by everyone. He will be missed by many.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Norma Lee Smith, and his baby sister, Rhonda.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Janis Smith; son, Aaron Smith and daughter-in-law Holly Smith, stepdaughter Cindy Riley, and stepson Chris Wolf; granddaughter Brittany Riley, and grandsons Seth Barnes, and Mason Barnes; three brothers, Randy Smith, Roger Smith and his wife Jan, and Mark Smith and his wife Stacey. Stephen is also survived by his great-grandson, Aaron, his cousin, Alan Mansfield and wife Kelly, nephews Jarrett Smith and his wife Jen, Wyatt Smith, and Brett Smith, along with many more loving nieces and nephews, two great-nephews, and many other loving family and friends.
