Steve David Adam Sr.

ENFIED, NC - Steve David Adam, Sr., age 87, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at ECU Health Edgecombe Hospital in Tarboro.
He was born on May 30, 1937 to Steve and Helen Kocsardi Adam in Cleveland, OH. Steve grew up on an 88 acre farm in Streetsboro, OH and lived there until he got married. He loved all sports, especially baseball and bowling, and was an avid golfer. Steve worked at Clevite in Bedford, OH and wrote sports articles for the Clevite newspaper. He was married to Cheryl on July 21, 1962 and to this marriage was born four sons. After serving a period of time in the U.S. Army in a critical skills program, Steve's talents were needed more as a government contractor assisting in the building of ceramic parts and Sidewinder Missiles. Later Steve worked in Rocky Mount for Honeywell Corporation building ceramic parts and for Kaha Ilco making keys. Steve loved old hymns, eating Hungarian food, and reading parts of the Bible to his coworkers. He loved his family greatly and will be deeply missed.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Kocsardi Adam; his father, Steve Joseph Adam; and his son, Mark Joseph Adam.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of the home; his sons, Steve David Adam, Jr. of Enfield, Matt James Adam and his wife Cheryl Lynn of Kansas City, MO, and John Charles Adam of Enfield; his brother, Paul Earl Adam and his wife Diane of North Ridgeville, OH; and his half-brother, Steve Pushover of The Villages, FL.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 26, 2024 at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service - Letchworth Chapel, with Rev. Ricky Sorie officiating. The family will receive friends after the service in the chapel.
