Steve A. Balog, 91 of Avon, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025. He was born in Brownsville, Pennsylvania to George and Anna Balog. Steve was an Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict. He loved watching birds, fishing, and playing lottery tickets. Above all, he was a family man who loved his family and will be greatly missed by them.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Melissa (nee Hugland); children, Steve, Jr., Michelle Harris, Curtis (Dawn) and Craig; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his, sister Rose Hands. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Anna; and siblings, George, Andrew, and John Balog, and stepbrother, Bud Shepley.
The family will receive friends at the Wyers-Bollinger Funeral Chapel, 2900 N. Ridge Rd., E., Sheffield Twp. on Sunday, June 29 from 12:00 - 2:30 pm, with a service immediately following. Please meet on Monday, June 30 at Noon at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery for the burial with military honors.
